Casey Moore

Personal History

Casey was born in Washington, D.C. in 1976. He attended a Bible study on Revelation during the summer between the eighth and ninth grade. Through this study and personal reading in the book of Romans, the theological truth of inherited sin became clear; he recognized his desperate need for Christ.

One Sunday a guest preacher interrupted the singing of hymn 198, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus." As the organist continued to play, the preacher addressed those who had not trusted Jesus Christ. Casey believed in Christ. Since that moment, God has moved Casey from spiritual death to abundant life in Christ!

At the time of his conversion Casey sensed a clear calling to preach Christ-centered messages. The joy of preaching his first sermon at 16 confirmed this calling. However, he ran from God and pursued his own vocational goal: President of the United States. His strategic plan of attack was engineering, military, law, politics. He accepted an Air Force R.O.T.C. scholarship at Virginia Tech which he believed was outside of God’s will but within his own. Halfway through his sophomore year circumstances of life confronted Casey’s disobedience. He released his vocational goal and started considering ministry. Through this period he interned with an engineering firm and worked for a heavy construction general contractor. He finally accepted his ministerial calling and retired from secular work in 2001. From that point forward doors opened for him to share Christ in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and in the United States.

Ministry Responsibilities

Casey understands his ministry mission as to communicate the truth of scripture so that people are transformed into committed, passionate followers of Jesus Christ. He is currently responsible for developing the Singles Ministry by equipping people to lead a variety of singles groups. He teaches a weekly Community Group Bible study, hosts Caffeine, plans social activities and does whatever else needs to be done to advance the mission of Topeka Bible Church. Casey welcomes the opportunity to preach and to invest his life in others.

Bachelors of Science (B.S) in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (1998); Masters of Theology (Th.M.) in Pastoral Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary (2004); Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel (2005).

Family

Casey is the elder of two children. His sister resides with her husband in Virginia. His parents reside in Maryland. His father works for a public utility company and his mother is a physical therapist.

Interesting Tidbits

Casey loves chasing little white balls with 392 dimples straight down narrow paths of tightly cut green grass, over lakes, streams and water coolers, through thick expanses of evergreens or wherever they happen to travel. He also enjoys looking down the barrel of a 12-gauge shotgun, squeezing the trigger and seeing screaming clay targets disintegrate. Among Casey’s several childhood claim-to-fames are a stellar performance at the National Livestock Judging Competition in Louisville and a Pope & Young whitetail that now watches Direct TV in his parent’s family room.
