Bryan Nelson

Personal History

Born in Milwaukee, WI, his roots are in Kansas.  He began following Jesus when he was 6 years old - but didn't give his entire life to God until his high school years.  After college, he spent ten years on staff at Grace Church (Lititz, Pennsylvania) until April 2007 when Bryan and his family moved to Topeka to join the team at TBC.

• M.A. in Ministry (Leadership Studies) - Lancaster Bible College & Graduate School (Lancaster, PA)

Ministry Responsibilities

Oversees the music and drama ministries for weekend worship.  He enjoys a crazy light show once and awhile.

Family

His mom was from Wichita, KS and his grandmother lived in Hutchinson, KS.  His dad was from Lincoln, NE.  Bryan met his wife through mutual college and music friends and married August 18, 2001 while on staff at Grace Church (Lititz, PA).  Bryan and his wife Lisa have two children (Joshua, born December 2004 and Kayla, born November 2006).

Interesting Stuff

He plays guitar, keyboard, trombone, and a few other instruments.  He bought a bass trombone from Australia sight-unseen to tour with The King's Brass.  He studied with trombonists from Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington D.C.).  He enjoys writing/blogging (see his blog - verticalresonator) and enjoys just about anything with technology.  He's also enjoys anything with NASA, space flight, and the cosmos.  Summers you can find him fying remote control airplanes.
